Brief History of Guang Rong
In coordination with the policy to develop nine-year compulsory education, as well as adapting to the practical need in San-chong area, the preparatory office of Guang Rong Junior High School was founded in August, 1969. Mr. Guo Lia-sheng, principal of Ming-zhi Junior High School at that time, took his concurrent post as the director of the preparatory office of Guang Rong Junior High School. On August 1, 1970 no sooner had the school been founded and named Taipei County Guang Rong Junior High School, than Mr. Zeng Shu-nong was appointed as the first principal. Afterwards, through the management of several principals, Guang Rong has gone through its hard time, and seeks for staying outstanding in the future.
In the beginning of the foundation, the school land was not sufficiently purchased so that there weren’t any buildings constructed for teaching. Our school borrowed some rooms from the military camps. After being roughly reconstructed, our school started in a hurry. As the classrooms were not enough, the space was crowded. What’s even worse, each time when it rained, the whole classrooms were inundated with water.
However, the situation had been improved a lot since 1971. Our school purchased the land more than ten thousand pings on No. 26, Jie-shou Rd., in San-chong, pulling down the old constructions and building the new ones. For years, four buildings, Guang Hua, Guang Xing, Guang Rong, and Guang Yi, are constructed sequentially. While Guang Hua and Guang Xing are for teaching, Guang Rong is for administration. Guang Yi has classrooms with equipment for craft and music courses. Besides, there are one skating rink, and two tennis courts within the campus. In 2000, Student Activity Center was built, along with an indoor swimming pool.
Guang Rong has set a good example since the foundation. It is proved that even under extremely tough circumstances, the teachers here could still enable the students to learn willingly, as long as they were superior with sincere enthusiasm. Now, with daily innovative teaching skills and gradually improved teaching environment, Guang Rong must try its best to keep outstanding and being a happy learning yard, not only in children’s mind, but also in parents’.
1974 The Night School was founded.
